What about Bob...

I served as a pastor for over 36 years, mixing it up with stints in church planting and theological education. I have been happily married to Susan for 42 years. We love sharing time with our children and grandchildren. I have been an avid reader for a long time, owning a large library which can be a space problem as I prefer handling real paper. I am more likely to enjoy a small dinner gathering than a big boisterous party. I'm an avid NBA fan and an enduring Beatles and U2 fan. I'm a proud Canadian.

I am an avowed believer in orthodox ecumenism (you might have to look that one up), but simply put, I believe there is a common centre to Christian faith and it is in that common centre that we are closest to the spirit and meaning of Jesus. I usually refer to myself as a Great Tradition Christian.

I was raised by extraordinary parents and realized somewhere along the line that I was called to be a spiritual father to others. I would be happy to hear from you.

What directees say...

Spiritual direction with Bob has been a transformative journey for my faith. He has walked with me through both the hard and good times, bringing a wealth of insight that has helped me re-frame my view of God and find true spiritual freedom. Along the way, his gentle perspectives and occasional book recommendations have consistently challenged me to grow deeper in my walk. I cannot recommend him enough.

Bob’s wisdom and guidance have been a steady and trustworthy presence in my spiritual journey. His ability to be present in ways that are patient, generous and unhurried are a rarity in our chaotic and noisy world.
Christin Woods

Conversations with Bob are full of uplifting insights, which often come from immersing ourselves in the stories of Scripture. He is a compassionate listener, even when that involves painful memories. I love his Storied Life series.

Bob Osborne has been a wonderful spiritual director in my life. His wisdom, calm presence, kindness, and remarkable clarity have helped me navigate both ministry and life with greater confidence and discernment.
Michael Larson

Bob came into my life at a crucial time. I was (kinda still am) a crazy charismatic, that had experienced most of what the Pentecostal tradition had to offer and was searching for more. Bob introduced me to the deep world of spiritual formation and the development of inner life. I would not be who I am today without my Big Brother Bob. I highly recommend His life and ministry to all!

One of the things I appreciate most about Bob is his ability to discuss almost any topic and gently guide the conversation back to what matters most, which is my relationship with God. He has a gift for helping me see how God is working in my life. Every meeting I've had with Bob as my spiritual director has been meaningful, encouraging, and well worth the time.

We live in a world that has forgotten its story. Bob’s approach to spiritual direction gently invites people back into it, helping them discover that their lives are not random fragments but chapters in God's unfolding work. With patient attention and wise presence, he teaches us to recognize God's grace in the ordinary, where the good, the true, and the beautiful quietly take shape in the everyday.
Reed Schulze

What makes Bob exceptional as a spiritual director is that he creates space for God to enter the conversation. Through shared scripture and prayer I often experienced God speaking directly to me, there with us. Bob never sought to be the answer; instead, he helped me encounter the One who is. Time and again, I left our meetings with a renewed sense of hope, peace, and trust and I am deeply grateful for the lasting impact he has had on my spiritual journey.

I have known Pastor Bob for twenty years and he has been a source of steady wisdom and direction in my life and the life of my church family. He is a living Christian example of the inner peace and contentment this world is searching for. With his vast knowledge of the Bible, he consistently turns my attention to the Scriptures and brings me back to what is important - my love for Jesus and His Kingdom.
Sandra Loutit

Bob is a patient and discerning guide who continually invites people to pursue the Centre—to keep their lives rooted in Christ. One of the things I have always appreciated most is his deep passion for helping others follow Jesus, who is both fully human and fully God. Through his ministry as a spiritual director, Bob has accompanied countless people as they discover God's presence in the midst of their own stories. His gentle wisdom, attentive listening, and Christ-centered guidance create space for others to grow in faith, experience God's grace, and deepen their relationship with Him. I wholeheartedly recommend Bob to anyone seeking a wise, faithful, and compassionate spiritual director.
